Quality Management Policy
To maintain high quality and low web site downtime, we implement the following principles of quality control:
- Combination of manual and automated testing helps us select an optimal mix of procedures for quick testing on all stages of operation and development, including: functionality testing, layout and publishing control, security testing, and stress-load testing.
- Exact observation of established procedures when modifications of production systems are involved. Our typical procedure in developing a solution and updating a production system includes the following:
- Development and modification of applications is done on test/staging servers
- Initial testing is conducted by our test department on staging or demo servers.
- Initial attestation of the completed work is done by the client as a result of checking of the running configuration on the staging servers, after initial testing in (b) is finished.
- After initial attestation and acceptance of work, the time is scheduled for deployment on the production system.
- At that stage a rollback point of the production system is created and after that the installation or an update proceeds.
- Immediately after (e) a second phase of testing is conducted on the production system.
- If tests are successful, a final attestation by the client is conducted. If errors are discovered which are beyond elementary and cannot be immediately fixed, the production system is rolled back.
- Automated collection of information about applications errors and malfunctions. Our web sites and applications are able to provide automatic notification of errors and malfunctions, which enables monitoring of problems and prompt issue of patches and fixes.
- Specific monitoring of critical points. Client systems under our support are connected to an automated monitoring application, which notifies sysadmins about error conditions as they appear.
- Precise division of roles and responsibilities in our teams. Successful projects are impossible without concerted team work. Every specialist in Ivelum knows his or her role and precise set of responsibilities:
- Project managers are responsible for formulation of the business task, time schedules and the project budget.
- Designers are responsible for quality of the project work and observing its deadlines.
- Developers follow deadlines and ensure internal code quality.
- Quality assurance engineers are entrusted with overall quality and maintaining test schedules.
- System administrators install software or updates on live systems and are responsible for maintaining uptimes without crashes or service interruption.
